Sean Vandenburg
Specializing in individualized programming & 3-lift technique
During his M1 career, Sean has rewritten record books, holding multiple provincial equipped Open records and national equipped M1 records. He’s represented Canada as both athlete and coach, earning silver in classic and gold in equipped bench at the 2025 World Championships (Drammen, Norway), with additional medals in 2024 and 2023.
As a coach, Sean has twice led Team Ontario and has been named to the coaching staff for the 2026 Classic and Equipped Bench Press World Championships in Warsaw Poland.
Beyond coaching, Sean is an accomplished meet director through Trinity Barbell, with four local meets to his credit. He also serves on the CANPL Coaching Committee and currently holds status as a National Level Referee.

Angel Yau-Vandenburg
Specializing in weight management & equipped 3-lift
Angel combines elite competitive success with deep coaching and competition expertise. She has extensive experience coaching athletes at the provincial, regional, national, and international levels, along with Provincial Referee (OPA) credentials and hands-on international Good Lift strategy experience. Known for her calm, detail-oriented style, Angel excels in high-pressure environments, supporting technical execution, athlete confidence, and mental readiness.
Since entering powerlifting in 2019 as a Masters lifter, Angel has competed in 24 meets, including six World Championships, and now holds every Ontario Masters (M1 and M2) classic and equipped record in Squat, Bench, Deadlift, Total, and Bench Only, all achieved as an M2 lifter. She has medaled at every World Championship appearance, including winning gold at Bench Worlds in Austin, Texas in 2025.
Outside competition, Angel serves as a Trinity Barbell meet director, with four local meets completed to date, reflecting her strong, athlete-first leadership both on and off the platform.

Zachary Vandenburg
Specializing in competition cutting, handling, & 3-lift technique
Zach is an experienced Team Canada athlete who has represented the nation on the world stage seven times — all before the age of 18. He currently holds countless provincial and national records.
Beyond his athletic achievements, Zach is highly skilled in strategic weight manipulation for competition cuts — optimizing body composition and maintaining peak strength while making weight with precision and consistency.
As a Provincial referee and coach, Zach consistently demonstrates exceptional meet-day strategy and leadership. His calculated attempt selection guided an athlete to victory at the 2025 National Championships, securing their spot on Team Canada for Worlds.
